3) Bribery of federal judges

4) Burglars who break in while you're home -- I mean you interrupted my movie, which sucks, but I wasn't so attached to the cufflinks you stole tbh

5) Pythons

6) MPs taking advantage of expenses. C'mon, of course they're all at it, wouldn't you be?

Bieber.

jaymc, Thursday, 7 October 2010 13:49 (fourteen years ago) link

Oh yes, people making unfunny jokes about Bieber and how he heralds the end of civilisation makes me angrier

Rob Liefeld pose (chap), Thursday, 7 October 2010 13:51 (fourteen years ago) link

Agreed. He's just a lil dude making harmless music for adoring tweens. No different from countless other Tiger Beat cover kids over the last 40 years.

jaymc, Thursday, 7 October 2010 13:54 (fourteen years ago) link

I did think it was weird that I was helping a student (in her early 20s), and she had a giant picture of Justin Bieber as the wallpaper on her laptop. Not infuriating though, just odd.

romoing my damn eyes (Nicole), Thursday, 7 October 2010 14:01 (fourteen years ago) link

She sounds obviously a bit culturally retarded, but you can't really get angry about that.

How supposedly-talentless people have more public attention than supposedly-talented people. It's been this way since media has existed, and it probably won't change anytime soon.

delicious demonym (corey), Thursday, 7 October 2010 14:14 (fourteen years ago) link

So I guess that's not so irrational.

delicious demonym (corey), Thursday, 7 October 2010 14:14 (fourteen years ago) link

Oh god, when I was working over the summer these two dull old cunts would have a dull old conversation bemoaning just that EVERY fucking lunch time in the staffroom, so loudly and droaningly that it would completely dominate the atmosphere and make any kind of fun banter impossible. Infuriating.

They'd make a few fairish points, but it was all just so tedious. And they wouldn't make them just the once, oh no.

"That Kim Kardashian, what's she famous for? Famous for being famous, you never hear anything about good writers, and McDonalds is bad for you"

delicious demonym (corey), Thursday, 7 October 2010 14:43 (fourteen years ago) link

perfect opportunity to start defending kim k and the like on spurious grounds, "she brings light relief to the world!". anything to stop that pompous monolithic shit taking over. more fun for you to attack them as it doesn't really matter as much to you, easy to get them all tangled up in spluttering righteousness. a bit of faux naifiness in the workplace is always a lol

NI, Thursday, 7 October 2010 15:00 (fourteen years ago) link

I tended to just retreat to the staff kitchen where the girls where hiding and bitch about the students with them, TBH, way more fun.

Rob Liefeld pose (chap), Thursday, 7 October 2010 15:04 (fourteen years ago) link

that does sound better actually, it's been so long since i've been in an office (i kinda miss it in a 'i know im being stoopid' way) that im probably romanticising shitty office arguments

two years pass...

i work in a big ass office building, there's a coffee shop inside it. the coffee shop has a chalk board and they ask dippy questions and people can write their responses (fall tv, mother's day, the olympics, whatever. basic chit chat shit)

i've noticed that if people like or agree with something already written, there will be a cluster of "+1" or "like" chalked around it.

so IA.

huh, welp for the record my above views re: sexual abuse are inaccurate and i doubt i ever actually felt that way. it was probably a misguided attempt to be "controversial."
