While I wait for this thread to load, I scroll down and see what random historic post I see. The other day I scrolled down to where Qoolout mentioned Kazper started his own thread. So I decided to look at this thread, and it was a lyrical battle thread, birthed by us. If you click on the ILM at the top of the screen and then click on Epic Throwdowns, you will be able to see the thread Kazper started and it's called "Who Wanna Battle?" I have to say that those are by far the WORST lyrics I have EVER seen in my ENTIRE life!!! Not Kazper per se, but all of the other "wanna be like us" losers typed some of the most garbage trash doo doo boo boo that anybody could ever imagine. Y'all thought Squirrel Police and Bob were bad? Look at some of these cats. You might literally puke on the keyboard when you see what's typed. There was also a board in the same place as Kazper's called "Jigga and Nas: WTF? (chaki)" and it has a bunch of our little Stans... they're all riding this board's metaphorical dick and there's quite a few of them. A certain vet was in there, too, but he was just inviting the Stans to come visit.

3:16, how in the world can Pac be overrated as a musician? This is not basketball or some kind of sport. This is music. All you have to do is listen to it. Y'all can talk about how Pac didn't do it for you personally as a musician, but to say he is overrated is pure nonsense! How can the man be overrated and still top charts more than any wanna be rapper in this day and age? 90% of the rap game is some kind of EXACT REPLICA or LAME ASS TANGENT of Tupac Shakur. Every rapper would love to do what Pac did in rap. "A few standout tracks?" Are you serious? "Dear Mama" "Me Against The World" "I Get Around" "Pain" "Ambitionz Az A Ridah" "Hit Em Up" "Brenda's Got A Baby" "All About U" "Smile" "Got My Mind Made Up" "Keep Ya Head Up" "2 Of Amerika's Most Wanted" "No More Pain" "Heartz of Men" "Life Goes On" "California Love" "Soldier Story" "Let's Get It On" "Thug Luv" "Holla At Me" "I Ain't Mad At Cha" "All Eyez On Me" "Rather Be Ya N.I.G.G.A." "Toss It Up" "Hail Mary" "Bomb First" "Blasphemy" "Krazy" "Me And My Girlfriend" "Against All Odds" "Fuckin With The Wrong Nigga" "Thug Passion" "Picture Me Rollin" "Fuck Y'all" "Do For Love" "Changes" "I Wonder If Heaven Got A Ghetto" "White Man's World" etcetera, etecetra... And I'm sure that ain't even every standout song! And when did his lyrics leave "a lot to be desired?" Explain, please! More hennessy/enemy repetitive trash? More exaggerations off of one or two songs he did? Ok, ok, ok, the only song off the top of my head where he says "adversaries" is "No More Pain." And yeah, he said M-O-B a lot, but DAMN, that was his trademark! The man sold 5 million copies almost 8 years ago - before hip-hop carried the weight it does now, and he STILL sells more than most any rapper could have a wet dream about. And I only mention his sales cause that's a SMALL part of why he's the GOAT. Now, I just wanna hear why his lyrics left a lot to be desired and what were his standout tracks in your view.

MVPee, the funniest thing you said in that whole ten page essay was "Meth and Red lyrically outshined Pac." Dun, don't make me bring you into my office of judging MCs and beat you with my briefcase! "Got my gunpowder and my muskets... BLAUW!!!" Is that what does it for you? "The Mr. Meth Tical, from Staten Isle, we'll be back after this message don't touch the dial..." That's the shit you get off on? I liked Meth's verse, true, but how does that outshine Pac? And Red's verse shouldn't even be in this debate. "Nonbelievers get my dick and genitals backwards..." Oooooooooh! Ahhhhhhhhhhh! But if those are tight lyrics to you, then so be it. But other funny things about your essay was the fact that you never could give anybody a specific song about that hennessy/enemy nonsense you ALWAYS (ALWAYS, dun!) bring up. Then there were the same dick in the bootie "jokes" about DA SOUTH that you used on the old board. ARTICHOKES! Or was it ORANGES? Well, whatever it is, I gather you know the rest, silly kanedroppin Nigger-ian... And then you have the gumption to call me a "whammy" for mentioning B2K to my friends at Waffle House, when you were the "Herb-be HANDcock" ass nigga who couldn't let a post go by without "informing" us about every goddam detail of your pledge life! Like we were your best friends and shit! FUCK OUTTA HERE!!! And then he has the gumption to say I like Nelly (WTF? FUCK OUTTA HERE! I never said that, dummy) and proceed to NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION about "Favorite Nas Quote #3,342" (i.e. smokin weed, deceased bird, broken sky, yadda, yadda, yadda). And to top it off, Herb B. actually thinks I gave a rat's ass about him calling me an emotional wreck! Dun, the post may be old, but it's not like I can't scroll up and see it on the screen, you moron! And I couldn't respond then because my 1 meeeeeellion (dollars) aliases had you on a post ban. Unlike YOU, I keep my word. However, I thought you weren't gonna "talk" to me about music? Hmmmmmmmm... I know, Kaptain Hate, you always sayin H3K ain't right, but you want us to go together like Day and Night (copyright Jadakiss)...

Faye, we asked Nchekwube a long time ago about all those posts, and he "claims" it was an imposter. Claims. However, the real Nchekwube has numerous times called Pac the greatest MC of all time, just not the best lyricist. So all of his Pac hating now could be seen as mindboggling hypocrisy if you actually expected more from him.

"Broken dreams, broken promises, but well-kept lies..." - H3K

His persona on this thread is NOT mine... but he'd like it to be.

I'm out like my awards for Most Popular Outro and Illest Flow On The Net. Peace!

Hillis 3000, Monday, 5 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Dammit! I thought I had addressed all of Herb B. HANDcock's perposterous statements, but I missed a few (but there were so many, can you blame me?)... Dun (X14), how can you even compare the 92/93 PAC to the 93 Nas?! Pac's line wasn't that bad; I'm sure you've heard much worse. But even so, aren't artists supposed to grow and expand after their first LP? Pac grew into the wondrous MC that captivated hip-hop America (and England, too) even AFTER his unfortunate demise. Nas, if anything, backslid into limbo, quite possibly getting 10 times WORSE with each new LP until he SLIGHTLY pulled himself together with the misnamed Stillmatic. So please don't give me that Illmatic quote and call it the Nas of today. I was born on a day, but not YESTERday! And how you gonna pick some random 2Pac quote that wasn't all that and try and compare it to Nas' best shit? Damn, how bout I pick out hmmmm... "Who wants to be a millionaire, but my name ain't Regis/Nas the one they call when they want they thing beat up..." (Nas on Oochie Wally) and compare that to "Allow me to introduce first, Makaveli the Don/hysterical, spiritual lyrics like the holy Qu'Ran...money makin plans, pistol closed in hand, swollen pockets/let me introduce the topic, then we drop it// expose snakes cause they breath freely, see me ride?/located world wide like the art of graffiti//I think I'm tougher than Nitti, my attitude shitty/born on a dopefiend's titty, huh//in every city you'll find me leavin trouble right behind me/my Outlaw niggaz down to die for me, nah mean?//I hit the scene niggaz duckin from my guillotine stare/I'm right there; my every word, a fuckin nightmare..." (PAC on Bomb First). NO CONTEST if we gon do that. And like H*WOOD said, all that stuff on Ain't Hard To Tell is a big vocab test of jumbled metaphors. CAN YOU EXPLAIN THESE LYRICS AND NOT JUST QUOTE THEM?! I'm sure we all agree Nas LOOKS poetic but you're supposed to be explaining the poetic value, not putting up more quotes and rambling on about how I supposedly don't understand them.

I also said Fabolous doesn't suck (if you can read - it may not be Ebo, but I thought you understood English), and I like a few of his verses. But if I were to pick a rapper to quote after every damn post, I'd pick F-A-G-O-L-O-U-S before I'd pick Chino Xtra-medium" and (g)AZ. And I said Nelly has a garbage flow and wack lyrics, but somehow manages to find good beats that work with his terrible mic skills.

"Dun, don't make me bring you into my office of judging MCs and beat you with my briefcase!" - H3K

I'm out like Chino "Smedium" and (g)AZ. Peace!

But wait! There's more!

MVPee, it almost slipped my mind, but WHY in the hell do you post and and say, "No time for the intro/outro?" FUCK OUTTA HERE! It must take all of, what, 30 seconds to do that "Who is it" travesty of an intro and you can't spare the time to do that? So how is it you make jokes about my post frequency (sorry, I can afford the internet), but it seems as if you'll post when you have only a few minutes to spare? If you can't spend 30 seconds on your garbage outro how can you find time to post?! Hmmmmmmm... if I didn't know any better, I'd say you use every spare second that you have remaining in your AIDS-riddled African life to post against H3K... And since I know how much you love seeing H3K on your computer screen......... H to the 3 to the K! H3K!

"You love me, really..." - 3:16

I'm out like spare time for Herb B. Peace!

Just when I think I'm rolling out from the board, y'all pull me back in here...thanks. 1st things 1st, Hillis, when I said you were upset about Best posting at another site, I was just repeating something he said. I didn't actually think you were angry about it. And you know my award speech was tight, don't H(ate)3k. But I did forget to thank you for making me want to post the 1st volume, lol. Oh yeah, you know I had to rep on that other board with them "Stans"; they was hating and loving us at the same time (like me wit them women) so I told them to come here and speak their minds...they didn't. But there was at least one person who "murdered kazpus on his own thread." I can't recall the name right now, but I'll go back and look. Best, concerning your comment about not wanting to get me upset: Don't worry about it, because I certainly don't worry about getting you upset. Did y'all see them Redskins? I already called it, remember? This gonna be our year...it gotta be...hopefully. I might have to go get one of them new (old) jerseys too. Who should I get? I already got number 24, Champ B. And 3:16 you are known for saying some wild stuff. I'm not sayin that you are lying, but AZ going to the Roc (like Hillis said) is hard to believe. Even if I did see that on the net, I'd question it. Hillis, those reason that you said about Em, is why he ain't the best. The Jerry Springer BS, is...some BS. He does it to be funny, but he also actually thinks it sounds good. And I say he is one of the tighest rappers out, but even he said on his last CD that he sales (in part) beacuse he is white. He goes on to say if he were black, peeps probably wouldn't even listen to him. There are plenlty of other tight people who ain't even got a CD out. Peep Jae Hood and let me know what you think (I'll even listen to that Mr. Bigg thing you keep mentioning). I'm not saying he is better than Em, but he could hold his own vs him, and he's a rook. Okay, enough about that stuff. Faye, you got the hang of it now; just about everybody on here had to try to defend something that they said "back in the day". Anything can be used against you, lol. Best, you know I disagree with you wholeheartedly about your hate towards Pac. But you gotta admit that Nas has done plenty of the things that you despise. I may be wrong, but it seems like you feel that Nas can do no wrong. He is just like everybody else. I mean he is tighter than most (not Pac of course) but he has done pop joints and so on. He has worked with who is hot at the time just like I (or you probably) would do. He did a joint with JD and a joint with J. Lo. I liked both, but you seem to have some explanation of why he can do these things, but hate when others do it. Admit that you are bias and that you are not really looking at the situation with an unbiased eye. I mean you implied that one of Nas' videos was the greatest of all time and I think that was before you even saw it. And you call the man "God Son." Just answer this for me. If Pac is so over rated or whatever, and I hype him all the time, what does that make me? Okay, now replace the "I" in that sentence with the name Nas. Because Nas gives this man his props all the time, even called him one of the best. So do you agree with Nas on that or was he just talking reckless like when he blasted hot 97? Holla. And another thing y'all, sorry "I don't have time" to spell check (had to quote that so Best wouldn't get upset).

The New and Untouchable

Qoolout, Monday, 5 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

I think Best you got it confused when I said Nas: Lyrical Poet or Phony Bastard. That was just a title, I came up with. It was kinda likr a versus title you see wht I'm saying. But back to the Nas thing, I am kinda two sided on the whole thing. I can understand his Shit, but in other cases he can get too carried away with it and just throw in metaphors. Unless a whole lot has changed in the New York area sinc I been there, the slang shouldn't be to difficult to understand. I moved from Jersey City in 2000, and before then I lived in Mount Vernon. I'm on the verge of moving back after college. But besides that, those comments are not just about Nas. But also other rappers, like Jay, even to the extent of Lil' Wayne (Believe it or not). I've heard heads say shit about Lil' Wayne to make believe this nigga has the best put together poetic lyrics of all time. And the same goes with Nas, like Hillis said.

This is getting ugly. Faye has embarrassed herself for the nth time.

faye88, Tuesday, 6 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Hold it! Best, let's analyze, shall we? So your "imposter" actually showed up in this thread before you, Nas' guardian angel, even did? Ooh! That makes sense. Gawd, I am SO slow!

(sigh) this is actually an effort to redeem myself.

"ahhhhh... crystal, mini motos, a couple of homos. Why not!" - Dr E to the V-izzo, I to the L-izzo

Yeah, I know all about that AZ going to the ROC thing was rocky but I did only say "he might". POINT TAKEN.

I just got a CD full, uh-huh, FULL of diss tracks. OK Jaz-O vs the ROC might be pretty tight but he should have realised the ROC wouldn't just lie down on him. Dude getting mad just cos Hove dont put him on all his tracks. the JD vs Dre diss is better than I thought. KRS DESTROYED Nelly the Elephant (What Nellys new album called anyway? Nellycopter, Nellyphant, Nellyvision? I dont know!).

Get ready for me to put down some spits, Its been a while and i need to warm my lyrical vertebre up again.

I'm out like me after I won 2 flights to Ibiza

Did someone say lyrics?

"Uh, uh, uh, I commandeered rap with the first written flow I typed/wit and intelligence exhibited in every single flow I write//lyrical insight unmatched; that makes me a visionary/dedicated to saving rap; that makes me a missionary//I'm not affected by other "rapper's" blah, yadda, and blase, blase/por que soy la cabesa de la clase//just when you think I've peaked, I let you know that you ain't seen shit/the potential is limitless, so is the arsenal, nah mean, kid?//I'm mad fresh in the whip that I be flossin in/so if you man want to test me, I suggest you caution him//cause you bout to lose a friend, HILL will bring the blues to him/old school puttin up the dukes, boxin him and bruisin him//rewind time, choose again, make sure that he choose to win/the thing to do is bounce cause HILL don't fuck with foolish men//spit so ill, medicine gets sick off of my flow/H3K, an MC All-Star, the lyrical All-Pro..."

Yeah, somebody said lyrics.

I'm out like the Florida State influence should be from them ugly ass new Redskins jerseys. Peace!

Haven't posted in a long time, since my computer died in December and by the time I got a new one, it would have taken me weeks to catch up. Don't know if you know this, but the Greenspun server is not being maintained, which means that at some time the board is going to crash for good (it was out for three days this time); so the ILM people are creating a new site on Lycos. Here's the new board. I suggest the regulars on this thread start a new one there, so you don't lose the thread and lose each other.

Frank Kogan, Friday, 9 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Actually, that new site won't be the permanent one either - ILx will get its own domain - but at least you know that it's not going to crash on you.

Frank Kogan, Friday, 9 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

The fuck is up with this site always going down?

Dont know if its true but i heard that Gay-Z has challenged Nas to a freestyle battle and the winner gets a million dollars to give to charity? Also I heard faggoty ass Nelly will be in a movie? arent we safe anywhere from the gayness?! I am also somewhat dissapoint Philly traded my boy Mutumbo to the Nets but we are probably a better team now though.

Big J, Friday, 9 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

Phil Greenspun stopped maintaining this server a while ago. It will eventually go down forever, maybe tomorrow, maybe a year from now. That's why the ILx'ers are moving to a new server. If greenspun.com crashes again, you might be able to find out info at NYLPM. You should bookmark that.

Frank Kogan, Friday, 9 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

No way is Philly gonna be a better team! A.I. will just make Van Horn cry lol.

faye, Friday, 9 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

VanHorn averages 18 points a game for his career and is capable of 30 points.

Big J, Saturday, 10 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

And the way I see it, that white center we aquired catches the ball as horribly as Mutumbo and for once Philly has a second scoring option. It would be really helpful if we signed that dude from the Celtics, Rodney Rogers.

Big J, Saturday, 10 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

So who's gonna start the new thread? Shit, I don't want to start the new thread and don't nobody show. Who gon start it? Big J? What up with it?

Anyway, "Weak Van Corn" is not the second scorer Philly needed. They need somebody who can create on their own like A.I. and not some slow, sorry white guy. ANd 18 points a game may be good in high school, but in the NBA that ain't shit. Plus Van "P"orn ain't got NO defense. That was a horrible trade. As a matter of fact, why did they get rid of MacCulloch in the first place just to take him back? What the hell was Philly thinking? And with Mutumbo dominating the middle, that allows the Net guards to D real tight cause they know they got the Mount backin them up! I say this helps the Nets big time and fucks the Sixers. Poor A.I. First his wife fucks his cousin after he boots her out buck naked and now he loses his inside presence. What the fuck is goin on? Oh well......... LAKER FOUR PEAT!!! HA HA HA HA HA!!!

I'm out like the playoffs for The Answer. Peace!

What up, H3K?! I'm still here! big ass riot up in Cheshire Correctional Saturday (Where infamous Keith Murray was at).And I just got out of training the 2 weeks before. I am now officially a correction officer. During the 10 weeks you're considered a "cadet". Anyways, it was more of them than there was of us, and I thought they was gonna whoop our asses! Most of the prisoners actually showed enough respect to chill before we got brolik. They taught us some shit in training like judo, taekwon-ESE and some Nigga-PLEASE (LOL at Ced the entertainer!!) The hours suck though. Everyday the hours are different, and there's mandatory OT, but it's all worth it when payday comes. That's why I dont be on the CPU that much but I will still keep in contact. This thread will never die. Part 3, the Saga still continues(so do the battles.........................
