It probably is the best Hagar-era VH song but this isn't even fair, come on.

The only memorable thing in the Van Halen song is the syncopated bass and drum hits during the chorus. It's not as good as "Why Can't This Be Love" (which itself is only adequate).

I love Van Halen, but this is a travesty.

At least if the Allman Brothers had been included, I could see them getting at least some votes.

First album, with Roth, is quite different: more hard-edged and tongue-in-cheek, guitar-heavy, much less glossy and sentimental.

Ok just checked and I actually like several songs on the first Van Halen albums where they sound like power-pop like “Dance the Night Away” is great and probably my favorite songs that I’ve heard from them… also the first half of the first album is good too.

Don’t really feel most of what I’ve heard from their 80’s outpout and I don’t know anything they did after 1984z

I reflexively voted for Fleetwood Mac and did not reacquaint myself with Van Halen's best song.

and for me VH “Dreams” is definitely a decent cut from the only good Hagar era (which for me is relegated to most of 5150 and like 4 songs from OU812) but it’s still not as good as the others imho

This reminds me of my dismay reading about Hagar describing his wife of this era suffering from depression. It's not always a good idea to extrapolate someone's private life from their artistic persona, but it's hard with Sammy.

This show from the last legs of van Hagar mark I is amazing, Alex is playing with a broken neck and Sammy can’t hit the second “higher” so mike covers it

I was there!!! I still have the shirt we bought there...120 bucks. Almost my 10th birthday at the time. Feels like yesterday but I remember Sammy wearing yellow, Eddie looking like crap, and it was loud beyond belief

I was at this show and I remember thinking why is Eddie fucking around so much...I'm a guitarist and I've followed can Halen most of my life and it was the first time I've ever seen Eddie make mistakes...... obviously drunk

At least you got to hear them perform "Up for Breakfast"!
