The new Kingtommi ep is great, a bit hypergarbage, a few straight up indie-pop bangers. Saw him live last night, and it was magical. Turns out the 'Merlins' he sings about are all his bandmates, especially his two old friends from his old band Uden Ord, who last night came out on stage to do synchronized choreography a few times, while dressed as wizards like in the video. It's been a long time since I've seen such a full on tribute to music as magical and inexplicable and life changing. Which is honestly something that hypergarbage is more often than most other genres these days, so it all makes sense.

Kingtommi is from the same music school as Clarissa Connelly, iirc. I think they have some really good teachers there, there's a bunch of great artists graduating these years.

can someone with apple music report back on what hakushi hasegawa's cover of "wonderful christmastime" from last year sounds like, i just discovered that it exists

It sounds almost normal, except it's really fast and the vocals are whispery and autotuned. Quite beautiful in it's own way.
