I recall hearing parts of Neither Fish Nor Flesh and thinking it was pretty shit but this was over 10 years ago. Maybe it's time for a critical reappraisal.

"This Side Of Love" wasn't too bad a tune, and Australian video clip show Rage used to play it incessantly back in the day.

It's not bad in terms of quality; it's bad in terms of pretentions. If I remember correctly, there are just a few blech songs on the album that mar the entire set. (Similar to how that a capella number on his 1st album sabotages the entire enterprise.) Vibrator (Album #4) was OK, a bit overlong, and a bit pretentious (surprise!), but it's probably his most consistent record. (Dunno about Symphony or Damn - some review compared "She Kissed Me" to the Beatles; someone revoke that writer's copy of Rubber Soul STAT.) From there, he was rumored to be the new lead singer of INXS post-Hutchence, I think - they might've even performed with him; can't recall.

"Sign Your Name" is a fine, fine song.
