In February 2000 the campus weekly I edited did an "It's Leap Year!" cover where the image was a February calendar with the 29th circled in red. No one appreciated my blank humor.

Yeah, there's not much to get. It was partly a dry parody of the kinds of *feature* stories the campus daily would run (a two page spread on the fact that it was Fall, with poor-quality photos of leaves changing, for example). But that was only really clear in my own mind. I ran another one along similar lines: "Frisbee is Back!" - which was supposed to be a joke about obvious non-trends being reported as trends. But again my thought process didn't quite translate to the page well.
