There's a whole episode of Steptoe & Son devoted to Harold's procurment of a waterbed. Also an episode of George & Mildred or possibly Robin's Nest.

Awful. Thrusting is impossible because of the lack of a firm surface, and you lose your balance a lot because you're wobbling all over the place.

i had a waterbed when i was a teenager, but i only had one girlfriend during that period, and we never "made love."

Visiting a friend over a weekend, he and his g/f had a waterbed, and they had to go out to run a marketstall, anf he was all "we have a wbed, you know, try it out, you know, etc.." but my g/f eventually decided he had hidden cameras or something. So, no.

Dunno, we didn't do that either.

I have actually got up off of a waterbed at least twice that I can recall and invited my cofornicatrix to continue the proceedings on the floor.

That's why I keep the metronome out of the bedroom.

I had a fine time on a full-motion king-size waterbed. We took all the sheets off of it and did it right on the plastic. The trick is to time your thrusts with the waves, so that just when the wave comes back, it does half the work for you. Gives new meaning to "motion of the ocean".

Kenan: We (and the women my husband's tried it with in the past) tried that too. Didn't work.
