Is there a way to know the total file size of all the images posted on a thread?

hello, this is kind of a weird request, and maybe something that i can do on my own (?), but is it possible to know the total file size of the images on this thread: Hey, let me drunkenly animate your photos in about 25 to 60 days!

and also, is it bad to have it be that much? i'm assuming it's at least a gig, because i've posted several hundred images an almost all of them were 1-3MB. if that is bad for ilx or hosting, i have no problem with taking them down or burying the thread deep under the seabed, whichever is easist.

thanks!

wait...as usual, i think the answer is i have no idea what i'm talking about.

since all the images are image links, ilx isn't hosting it. it's just a pain in the ass to individual ilxors' bandwidths for the poor soul who decides to load that whole damn page. and let's face it, the only poor soul doing that is me, when the wine bottle is gone. ok.

so scratch the offer to off my thread. and the way to determine the total file size is to try to download the whole webpage to my desktop and see how big the file is at the end.

ok. please off this thread, me.

I have this extension, Fatkun, that doesn't really do what you're asking, but it's helpful nonetheless.

One neat thing is that you can find the links used for all the images:

I dunno. It definitely has its flaws, but you can at least take a few extra steps forward than you were able to do before.

you're right, that's not exactly what i was looking for, but that's awesome! that would be a quick way to archive the links to all the images, which would be very handy to me as a reference. thanks!

you know what, this thread DID have a purpose

not sure if my hard drive will ever forgive me for this, but

(my first thought was to run that thread through a sketchy online web page size checker, but it didn't work and I'm afraid I might have unleashed a swarm of SEO bots on ilx. sorry.)

There's always the trick of opening the "skipping x messages..." link in a private window so that the embeds don't load. If you were looking to load a specific one you could copy its 'link' back to your logged-in browser window.

(or are there better ways to go about such things?)
