on superlong threads one seems to have the choice between viewing the first 50 answers + most recent 50 answers or the entire thread.
in the "Skipping X messages at this point... Click here if you want to load them all" divider, might we be given the opportunity to tack on, say, recent answers 51-100 (and so on) rather than skipping straight to showing the whole thread? it can be browser-crashing to load 2000 answers just because you wanna see the 55th most recent answer...
thanks!

i'm not a mod but the 'bookmark post' function can be handy w/ this. (tho u might not want to have like 50 active threads @ on your bookmarks list)

I would find this handy too, but only if it was easy to implement.

yeah i actually have a bunch of stuff bookmarked, but then there are random revives/clusterfuck threads (eg Geir Hongro - Classic or Dud? lol) that periodically pop up and rapidly garner 51+ new answers

yea that's true. lol my bookmark list looked ridiculous for a while until i finally cleaned it up. e.g. "who would win in a fight: silverback gorilla or a grizzly bear" lol

I pulled up this topic to request the very same feature mookie requested 14 years ago lol. I guess that's a no?
When I get "Skipping 873 messages at this point... Click here if you want to load them all" and I click that bad boy, I know my dang browser's about ta crash.
Bookmarking tactics are helpful but it can still be pretty dicey with a big topic.

If you click a post you can increment the URL to get earlier posts.
Step 1: Click the "link" tag at the end of a post.Step 2: the URL of this new page will contain something in the middle that says "bookmarkedmessageid=8701535" (but the number will be different.Step 3: Decrease that number a little bit and you get the thread loaded from an earlier point. Usually 1000 or is a good number (so in this case you would change the number to 8700535).

"Open from the beginning of current thread revive" would a great feature if it's possible.
