thanks sara! i'm really mad about the circumstances around leaving that other forum, so it's nice to be welcomed here.

also, candy cane bagel is NOT what you think it is, but it will do strange things to you.

for those that aren't sure, btw, my user name is pronounced y-t-t-h, not "yith". but you all can call me just2n4.

Lingbert, Monday, 29 December 2008 03:50 (sixteen years ago) link

i played in a band called "youth takes the headlines" a long time ago. it was named after an episode of the old radio show "yours truly, johnny dollar."

I go to bed with the fear in my heart that I will never know the true meaning of "candy cane bagel."

xpost - i was working on a formula in excel and kept getting that error, and it was driving me crazy. then i thought it would make a good user name. then i realized i had misspelled the name of the worksheet in the formula, hence the error. dumb...

also, that might be how einstein's envisions a candy cane bagel, but the noah's one is in a whole different dimension. i think they're radioactive.

#NAME? (ytth), Monday, 29 December 2008 07:32 (sixteen years ago) link

like the tasty kind of radioactive or the bad kind

i pronounce ytth as yith, but i jack up the kiwi accent when i do so it sounds more like yuth.

To quote Nitzer Ebb, "Where is the ytth?"

Actually Ytth sounds like a city name from Lovecraft.

I believe this, but I don't know why.

i'll tell my one good story from playing in a band... we were at a show and really mad at the promoter and the venue for various reasons, and so i got wasted and pretty much just insulted the crowd the entire time. they didn't even boo us, they were so uninterested in what we were playing. i kept talking about selling our demo and how they were "lucky" that we'd let it go for "only $10," since they were such jerks, etc. now, we had never ever sold a CD - we just gave them to people - but after the show, this guy comes up with a $10 and asks if he could buy one. my brother (the singer) started cracking up and told him that we always gave them away and that i was just being obnoxious. funny part is, aside from the time we got a cut of the door and made $60, it would have been the most money we ever made playing a show.
