Nope. Don't really plan on it, either. I was sorta excited about seeing it at one point, but it just sorta faded. Oh well...

I wanted to see Ron Perlman but that is what happened to my enthusiasm about it too. Well, there is always tape and/or the movie channels.

Yes, I enjoy Ron Perlman, he's good. But how come a waning interest in the Hell Boy movie? Did it have a bad trailer? I'm looking forward to it - Although I've hardly read the comic.

Some parts of the movie were really amazing... like how well they did Kroenig. He's easily the best (or at least, the most intriguing) part of the movie. They really handled a lot of topics well, though the principle conflicts of the movie, I felt, missed out on some of the most interesting parts of the comic.
I mean, they only have one big, ancient monster (or two, if you count the battle at the end as one), and in a world like Hellboy's, you can easily work in non-conflicting but cool sidestuff. They did a little of this, like the idea of talking with the dead, but why stop there?
Granted, you can never really catch the feel of a comic in a movie, especially live action.
I guess, lately, I've been feeling that movies are too short, too rushed. I think this if a recent phenomenon, though, because watching, say The Maxx on VHS, which is a mere 2 hours, doesn't give me that feeling. It easily covers far more ground than most TV series, though! Hrm.

two weeks pass...
fourteen years pass...
i didn't want to make a call on its quality too early, but those trailers were already extremely worrisome. the del Toro movies weren't perfect but they were really good and creative and exceptionally directed. I like Harbour but Perlman is an impossible act to follow, and sticking in some anonymous for-hire director was never going to improve on the previous films.

it felt very made-by-committee, which is so off-brand for the character
i think the worst part was the soundtrack?? or the fact that it sounded like p much every 'british' lead character was very obviously not
