Read about this shit but never bothered listening out for it. T Dream play "Force Majeure" w/obnoxious, out of time bongo player mixed LOUD:

Excerpt from "2008" version of "Tangram", sounds like Froese took the orig mix and slathered a load of sonick mush over the top. It's pretty horrible:

WTF@this? Has anyone else pulled a cheesy stunt like this on their back catalog(ue) or is EF unique in this.

This is the only thread to discuss Froese solo work, I guess. Recently I have become obsessed with Epsilon in Malaysian Pale. Don't know how I missed this one, as I love TD; maybe because the other two Froese solo albums I have (Aqua and Stuntman) have always left me cold (though I am eager to revisit them now). What else sounds like this? There's a slight Jon Hassell-ness to the b-side, "Maroubra Bay," but beyond that, I have no reference for what's going on in this music.
I also heard he re-recorded parts of this album later with catastrophic results. Anyone heard the, err, remake?

Was it Iggy and Bowie's favourite album in Berlin? Or Eno and Bowie's? One of the two. I think this album and "Macula Transfer" have never really been properly re-issued? Have I got that right? Sorry, I'm a bit vague tonight.

Epsilon in Malaysian Pale is part of the Solo 1974-1983 The Virgin Years 4CD set that's still in print - there's even an alternative version of the title track.

There are at least 2 versions of Aqua btw, the remake is hugely inferior to the original, Froese made a habit of this

I really like entirety of that collection which I assume is the original recordings.

I've long heard about a version of Froese's "Marouba Bay" that was *accidentally released backwards (as in, the song plays in reverse). It was supposedly released on a compilation called Electronic Dreams. I just downloaded this version and it is exactly the same as teh version on Epsilon in Malaysian Pale. Is there anywhere I can hear this infamous backward version?
(*I have no idea how something like this gets "accidentally" released without anyone noticing).
